I come from a middle-class family and, like most of us, I followed the conventional path—study hard, get a degree, and land a stable job. I completed my engineering in Mechanical and started my career as a Maintenance Engineer.
Back then, I believed a secure job till retirement was the ultimate goal. Until one incident changed everything.
The Journey of Self Discovery
In my first job, one senior worker retired. As a team, we pooled money to give him a farewell gift. I thought, “Now he’ll enjoy his retirement life.” But to my surprise, I saw him back at work just 4–5 days later.
When I asked why, I learned something heartbreaking—his son was still studying, and the family’s financial needs forced him to return to work.
That incident hit me hard.
It shattered my belief that retirement equals peace. I realized:
